1.  With a #40 blade on your clipper, clip the top 1/3 of the ears.  Clip both the front and back side of the ear leather.  By putting your index finger of your free hand behind the ear and applying a little pressure against the clipper blade will give you a cleaner finish.

.
2.  Change to a #10 blade and clip the anal area, genitalia, pads of the feet, arm pits and between the back legs.  You can use the #10 blade to clip the underside of the body if desired.
.
.
3.  Using a snap on comb attachment on your clipper (with a #10 blade) begin in front of the base of the tail and clip against the hair growth moving the clipper from the base of the tail to the back skull of the head.  Continue down one side of the body, then the other until you clip the desired hair.
.
.
4.  Turn the dog to face you and clip the chest and neck clipping from bottom to top against the growth of the hair stopping where the neck meets the jaw line.
.
.
5.  At this time all the blue coat should be clipped.  Except the tail.  That is a personal preference.  You can clip the tail the same length as the body, or leave it long.
.

6.  Again, working from the back to the front, scissor the feet on both back legs and trim any long hair touching the floor to floor length.
.

.
7.  Scissor the front feet, and trim any long hair touching the floor to floor length.
.
.
At this point the body of the Yorkie is finished in a layered clip.  The only grooming left to do is the head.  There are two headpieces to choose from, the modified Westie head (Page 4) or a head with a  topknot (Page 5).  Instructions on grooming heads will follow.
