1. Grooming a clean dog without mats or tangles will make the grooming job a lot easier and your finished look a lot prettier. . 2. Trim nails after a bath. The nails are softer when wet, and will cut easier and cleaner. . 3. Have a grooming plan. You will use two to three blade sizes in each of the Yorkie clips. Start with the #40 blade for the ears. Change the blade to a #10 to do your anal area, genitalia, pads of feet, arm pits and between the back legs. For the schnauzer clip, change to a #7F blade to finish the clipping on the body. . 4. Work from the back to the front, top to bottom of the dog. Clip against the growth of the hair to give a smooth finished look and avoid "tracking" marks. . 5.
